ประวัติศาสตร์โบราณคดี (History - Archaeology )

          มีเนื้อหาเกี่ยวกับพัฒนาการของผู้คนตั้งแต่สมัยก่อนประวัติศาสตร์ที่พบหลักฐานในจังหวัดสุรินทร์ตั้งแต่เมื่อประมาณ ๒,๐๐๐ – ๑,๕๐๐ ปีมาแล้ว สมัยวัฒนธรรมทวารวดีซึ่งเริ่มประมาณพุทธศตวรรษที่ ๑๒ – ๑๓ สมัยวัฒนธรรมเขมรมีอายุประมาณตั้งแต่พุทธศตวรรษที่ ๑๒ – ๑๘ จนถึงสมัยอยุธยาราวพุทธศตวรรษที่ ๒๔ การจัดแสดงจะจำลองสภาพชีวิตและพิธีกรรมการฝังศพครั้งที่สองในสมัยก่อนประวัติศาสตร์ โบราณวัตถุ ศิลปวัตถุสมัยทวารวดี เขมร ที่พบในจังหวัดสุรินทร์ หุ่นจำลองโบราณสถาน วีดิทัศน์เรื่อง สุรินทร์ถิ่นอารยธรรมขอมเพื่อให้ผู้ชมได้เกิดความเข้าใจในการศึกษาทางด้านโบราณคดีและประวัติศาสตร์ศิลปะของจังหวัดสุรินทร์

History – Archaeology

          This exhibition shows the development of the area from the prehistoric period of about 2,000 – 1,500 years ago through the Dvaravati period (7^th – 8^th century), the khmer culture period (7^th – 13^th century), and the Lanchang – Ayutthaya period (19^th century). On display are models illustrating the lifestyles and funeral ceremonies of prehistoric people, as well as antiquities from the Dvaravati, Khmer and Ayutthaya periods discovered in Surin province. There are also models of ancient monuments and audio – visual aids for information on the archaeology and history of the arts in Surin province.
