สำริด ขนาด สูง ๔๐ เซนติเมตร กว้าง ๗๒ เซนติเมตร
พบในที่นาของนายหลั่น พรหมเสนา บ้านเลขที่ ๒๗๐ ตำบลปักธงชัยเหนือ อำเภอปักธงชัย จังหวัดนครราชสีมา ห่างจากหมู่บ้านไปทางทิศตะวันตกเฉียงเหนือระยะประมาณ ๓๐๐ เมตร ในขณะที่จ้างรถแทรกเตอร์ปรับพื้นที่นา โดยพบลึกลงไปจากผิวดิน ๗๐ เซนติเมตร
กลองมโหระทึกหล่อด้วยสำริด ประกอบด้วยทองแดง ดีบุก ตะกั่ว โดยกรรมวิธีแทนที่โลหะด้วยขี้ผึ้ง (Lost Wax or Cire Predue) ด้วยพิมพ์ตั้งแต่ ๒ ชิ้นขึ้นไป
ลวดลายหน้ากลอง ตรงกลางหน้ากลองมีลายดาวหรือดวงอาทิตย์ ๑๒ แฉก ระหว่างแฉกมีลายหางนกยูงคั่นล้อมรอบด้วยวงกลม ๑ วง แถวลายซี่หวี ลายบุคคลสวมเครื่องประดับศีรษะ ตกแต่งด้วยขนนก ลายนกกระสาบินทวนเข็มนาฬิกา ลายบุคคลสวมเครื่องประดับศีรษะตกแต่งด้วยขนนกนั่งในเรือ ซึ่งอาจมีความหมายถึง เรือส่งวิญญาณ
กลองมโหระทึกถูกพบในดินแดนเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ เช่น ไทย พม่า เวียดนาม ลาว มาเลเซีย อินโดนีเซีย และฟิลิปปินส์ เป็นต้น สันนิษฐานว่า กลองมโหระทึกมีการผลิตครั้งแรกในวัฒนธรรมดองซอน ประเทศเวียดนาม ตั้งแต่สมัยก่อนประวัติศาสตร์ โดยผลิตขึ้นมาเพื่อใช้ในการประกอบพิธีกรรม เช่น พิธีกรรมขอฝน พิธีกรรมในการฝังศพ หรือพิธีกรรมในการรักษาโรค เป็นต้น

Found in the area of Mr.Lan Phromsena at 270 Pak Thong Chai Nuea sub-district, Pak Thong Chai district, Nakhon Ratchasima province. Excavated at a depth of 70 cm. below the surface.
The bronze drum is made from copper, tin and lead using the lost wax casting or Cire Predue techniques. The center of the drumhead is in the form of a 12-pointed star or sun. Between the pointed stars is a peacock feather design surrounded by a circle. It also features a circular pattern, a comb, herons flying counter-clockwise and people wearing head ornaments decorated with feathers and sitting on boats, believed to be the boats used for sending the dead to the next life.
Bronze drums were used for ceremonies or burials. They were found in South East Asia in countries such as Thailand, Burma, Vietnam, Laos, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines. However, it was assumed that bronze drums originated in the Dong Son culture, during the period of Vietnamese prehistory.
