The National Archives in Honour of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej holds records related to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and member of royal family. The records include textual records, audio –visual records and books. All researchers have to specify their purpose for using the records and can only use the records for educational or non-commercial purpose. Using all records for commercial purposes is prohibited.

When you come to The National Archives in Honour of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej facility to look at records, you will be issued a researcher identification card.

To obtain a Research Card, an applicant must:

-          Show official identification that includes a photograph. Acceptable IDs include driver's license, passport, and school and employment identification.

-          Complete a short form giving full name, permanent address, telephone number, and a brief description of the proposed research topic.

-          Bring 2 photos of 1x1 inch size

Foreign researchers who wish to conduct research in Thailand smoothly and successfully, particularly those who need to stay in Thailand longer than three months please contact Office of National Research Committee and permission from the Director-General of Fine Arts Department is required. 

Responsibilities

Our responsibilities are :

1.       To identify, collect, appraise, arrange, preserve records related to His Majesty King BHumibol Adulyadej and member of royal family and make them available for researchers.

2.       To record the royal ceremonies, state ceremonies and special events related to  His Majesty King BHumibol Adulyadej and member of royal family for publishing.

3.       To exhibit exhibitions to glorify His Majesty King BHumibol Adulyadej and member of royal family.

4.       To provide guided tours for group visits.

5.       To organize outreach programs to promote and disseminate the royal duties and biography of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and member of royal family.

On Monday 17th May 2010, the opening ceremony was performed by HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhon on behalf His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
